A Fresh Start

I have been a homesteader most of my life. I grew up in a family where self-sufficiency was prized. We gardened, canned, froze and dried our own food. We baked our own bread. We even made our own beef jerky. We also loved nature and went on many wilderness backpack trips.  And, of course, given my nickname, I also grew up with horses, which are still an important part of my life.

As an adult I have continued homesteading, having previously had 3 different homesteads. This year we have moved to my fourth homestead. I hope that this place will be the one where I can live out my life.


I decided I want to document the process of developing the homestead for my own record, and for others who might be interested in the process.
